My Slow Stitch Story

About

I discovered slow stitching during the height of the pandemic. It has taken hold of my heart in the best sort of way. Stitching is a form of meditation and practice for me. Creating handmade textiles has opened a gentle way to navigate the landscape of my many layered emotions and has put me in touch with stillness and deep wisdom.

Mission

Creating handmade textiles offers me space to find a more settled body, heart + mind and continues to help me metabolize feelings and experiences in my life that do not have words. I have found slow stitching to be magical in bringing mindfulness and awareness alive through its practice and I vow to awaken this experience in others through artwork and classes.

Vision

My hope and intent of teaching slow stitch classes is to share deeply and stitch together in community. Creating handmade textiles has put me in touch with stillness and deep wisdom. The process of slow stitching has helped me to step into a more whole and complete acceptance of myself and the world around me.

The purpose of slow stitching is to carve space to slow down, create room to take deep breaths, and to come into the enjoyment and present moment of each individual stitch.

The practice is to enjoy stitching one stitch at a time and to let go of outcome and perfectionism along the way. I find slow stitching is magical in bringing mindfulness and awareness alive through its practice and I feel inspired to bring this experience to life for others.
